SJ Awards 2013

If you haven't heard, the SJ Awards is back up again. Please nominate comics you think deserve the honor. This is a really awesome way of finding new talent in webcomics and sharing the wealth. I was nominated a few years ago and it really increased my viewership, so please do your small part in nominating someone!

Smack Jeeves News Posts? Why?

This is something I've been thinking about for a while and I think that I have finally come to a conclusion on it.

The Smack Jeeves "News" page. Or at least City Folk's "News" page. I don't know how many of you actually use it or read it. The way cityfolk.ca is set up, the latest news posts show up below the latest comic. You can scroll down to see the previous 5 or so news items. Easy, right?

I don't know how to do this on cityfolk.smackjeeves.com. I could probably do it, but it would be a frustrating week of coding and troubleshooting. Would the effort be worth it? Maybe not.

So the conclusion I've come to (at least for now) is to have a link to the cityfolk.ca news posts sitting just above the comic strip. There has been links up there for almost a year now already, but now the link will direct you primarily to News Posts on cityfolk.ca.

I hope this makes sense to you guys. My goal with this is to have a visible, easy to access link on the front page to share the latest City Folk news with you. Let me know what you think in the comments!

SOPA Blackout

I don't know if you've heard or if you havn't heard, but the protest of SOPA (represented by a 24 hour blackout is happening today.  I'm not clever enough to take full advantage of this (unlike a some of the sites i've seen) (and also the fact that my internet is down till Friday - thankful for 3g).

That being said, I'm not posting a strip today in protest of the people that want to take away our right of speech.  It's like burning a box of kittens for dressing like lions... or something.  O forget, but check out The Oatmeal.

No, seriously.  Head over to The Oatmeal to see what he's done with his blackout.  And I'll see you Friday with the conclusion to the elevator disaster.
